Teletubby Takeover

Bletchley Park, in Milton Keynes, England is well known for the code breakers that were decrypting during the Second World War. The Enigma was used by the German military and was thought to be unbreakable. The Poles managed to break the Enigma in 1932 and then passed the information onto the French and English in July 1939. To work out the Enigma quicker, a mathematician named Alan Turing developed an idea that greatly reduced the odds and thereby the time required, he could break the daily changing Enigma keys.

Recently Bletchley Park has been re-opened in order to investigate a truly unimaginable modern phenomenon: whether there are any codes in Children’s television. Not only has Station X been re-opened but they have also brought back ex-employees from retirement in the hope of discovering this potential phenomenon. ‘The Teletubbies’ programmes don’t use any form of understandable English in their episodes. Instead it’s more of a gargling, stuttering, slurring type sounds that are used to communicate. Bletchley Park has come up with suspicions that terrorist cells have been sending codes via the Teletubbies.

The television programme The Teletubbies is a British Children’s television series targeted at pre-school viewers. The characters of the Teletubbies are as follows: Tinky Winky is the leader of a gang of three, others including Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po. One of the reasons that Bletchley Park is suspicious of this programme is because all of the Teletubbies have antennae, the antennas are attached to their heads and heads give off the most energy in order to receive messages, or in this case… codes.

Tinky Winky is the largest and oldest Teletubby making him perfect for the leadership of the gang. He is well built in order to defend himself but also has the demanding tone to gain respect from the other group members. During the television series, Dipsy has been caught scratching his nose more than once in several episodes. This leads Station X to believe that he has been struggling with life recently after their latest assignment and therefore has resorted to sniffing Cocaine. Dipsy is quite a light-hearted character that many people love but is this just a fake personality shining?

Laa-Laa has a very loving and caring personality, creating the impression that she is the body guard of the gang, fighting to protect the gang as they go through their missions in life behind the scenes of the Teletubbies. Bletchley Park have taken the time to zoom in on one scene from episode eight and have noticed the glimmer from a blade hidden behind her back as she is poised in position to protect the others. Po is well known for being the colour red, which symbolises danger. From the historical background of the television series, it has come to the attention of Station X that Po was originally a cream colour but due to the amount of fights and battles that he has endured, the blood from the victims has washed into his skin changing the colour from cream to a vibrant red. The final member for the gang is called Noo-Noo, he has created suspicion upon himself for potentially being an Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D), this is because of his box-like frame and the fact that he remains inside 75% of the episodes.

Many people have considered Bletchley Park to have so much spare time on their hands that they have resorted to finding more codes to crack, however that is not the opinion of this author because if this information is proved to be true then this will be ground-breaking news all over the world!
